Exciting opportunity to play a key role in the Red Cross ambulance support team and provide safe and effective emergency care for patients who require admission to hospital.
As an ambulance technician for the Red Cross, you will work shifts on a rota basis as part of a two person team, operating a British Red Cross ambulance, working under contract for the North East Ambulance Service. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing safe and dignified emergency care and transport for patients;
- Keeping accurate and appropriate records for all patient episodes;
- Developing and maintain clinical skills in a range of emergency situations;
- Working effectively as part of a team at all times.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and qualifications:
- IHCD or industry similar qualification or willingness to undertake training;
- Full manual UK drivers licence (held for a minimum of 1 year and with no more than 3 penalty points) with C1 entitlement or provisional C1 entitlement;
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent by experience;
- Fitness to carry out the moving and handling of patients and equipment.

- Experience of working in a care environment either paid or voluntary;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work effectively in difficult and traumatic circumstances;
- Knowledge of CQC and its role within patient safety.
