"If I do all the walking, will you do all the giving?"

Friday, 17 July, 2009

On Monday 27th July a 10 year old boy from Ascot, Jack Harley-Walsh, will be one of the youngest person in the world to attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, and not content with stopping there he wants to then go on to climb Mount Meru and Mount Kenya. He is hoping to raise much needed funds for the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust and another local charity, The Sebastian Gates Action Trust.

When asked why he wanted to climb for the Air Ambulance he said:" because I went to Ferrari Fun Day, it was my best day out, ever, I saw the Air Ambulance and found out all about it and I decided when I was a bit older I would help them. He added: "If I do all the walking, will you do all the giving?"

Jack's mum. Sue, said: " I am so proud of Jack, fitness will not be an issue, the worry is the altitude sickness, it does not matter how fit you are, it can affect anybody, but we are going with a full team of supporters and whatever Jack does, will be a massive achievement for a boy of his age"
