End of an era for East of England Ambulance Service stalwart

Friday, 09 July, 2010

Colleagues will be waving a sad goodbye to Dave Hawes - known as Tricky - when he retires from the East of England Ambulance Service at the end of July after more than 35 years service.

Tina Self, CTS administration assistant, who works with Dave in Hellesdon, Norwich, said: "I am sure most of you know Dave. He has covered a lot of posts in the service - including leading ambulance man, control officer and ambulance technician. He now works in PTS and has helped to provide the tea fund at Hellesdon and Longwater as well as organise events and parties including most local retirements until now. "Let's have a good turn out on the night to thank Dave for all the hard work he has put in for us and the service."

A party with free barbecue is being held for Dave at the Bayer Social Club, Hellesdon Road, Norwich on August 7 from 7.30pm. There is also a card and collection at front reception at Hellesdon for anyone wishing to contribute. If you would like to attend the retirement party contact
